Never Forget!!!

Dear Friends,
  I ask that all of my friends at some point today take a moment to reflect on the impact of that day!

Total number killed in attacks (official figure as of 9/5/02): 2,819 
Number of firefighters and paramedics killed: 343 
Number of NYPD officers: 23 
Number of Port Authority police officers: 37

Number of WTC companies that lost people: 60

Number of employees who died in Tower One: 1,402

Number of employees who died in Tower Two: 614

Number of employees lost at Cantor Fitzgerald: 658

Number of U.S. troops killed in Protect Freedom: Countless

Number of nations whose citizens were killed in attacks: 115

Ratio of men to women who died: 3:1


BRAVE AND FREE

September 11th, here we are again,

When we lost so many women and men.

The Twin Towers came crashing down,

and the crash was heard the world 'round.



Fire and ashes and broken lives,

The weapons they brought were box-cutters and knives.

They took airplanes into buildings and ground.

And the crashes were heard the world 'round.



We rose in great numbers to help and to cry.

Why, why, should so many die?

Yet we are stronger than they will ever be;

We are the home of the brave, and the land of the free.



For all our lifetime we will fight

For what is good and what is right;

Let the shouts of love for our country resound.

And let it be heard the world 'round.

What does 9/11 mean to YOU???




What does 9/11 mean to YOU???

To me it means the Day The World Sopped Totally Trusting in One Another.


I luv watching the Smithsonian, Military or Discovery Channel’s.  I luv our history and understand that even from George’s time and before we need to protect ourselves and over time we have gotten much better at it. 

I get why we need intelligence surveillance. I get why we have to protect ourselves against others. Our History as a Plant and Our History as Humans has warranted it.

But 9/11 crossed a line in which no one can ever go back and erase.



I’ll never forget that day I got to sleep in because it was my day off and my husband called and woke me up and told me to turn on the TV.  I sat spelled bound the entire day… Thinking, Praying, Crying and just so Sad at what had happened. At first I though is this for real? Or is this just a really good trailer for the movies? I mean no one would really do this right?
Once I realized watch I was watching was Real and Actually happening I just couldn’t comprehend the true Magnitude of that was happening. 

The senseless loss of life. 

How could someone fly a plane into a building on purpose? How could anyone want to hurt so many people?


Why did so many have to lose their lives because they just wanted to fly home or get to work? Why did other have to lose their lives by just going to work?
How one man’s huge hatred of Americans had the power or resources to do this? And of course why didn’t Big Brother See this coming. Was this Pearl Harbor happening all over again? Didn’t we learn anything the first time around? That no matter how well you think you have things safe there is always room for someone to get thru? That any little link has to be taken seriously? 

Really people didn’t the massive loss of life then teach us anything? I mean the Arizona was never brought for a reason. That reason was, so we all as Americans can remember what the sacrifices where and the reason they all lost their lives? 

Don’t we build museums for that kind of stuff? Don’t we make movies so we all can remember while being entertained?  MAYBE THAT’S OUR PROPLEM. WE DON”T TAKE The THINGS WE SHOULD SERIOUSLY ANYMORE, And The Things We Should WE DON’T!
Well didn’t 9/11 remind everyone a little that day of Pearl Harbor? I mean a massive attack was planned out in secret to hurt the American Government and American People so we are reminded that we aren’t as powerful as we think?



I mean the towers were attacked years before
 as a statement to that fact and no one really took it seriously.

Yes, programs were put into place and drills run but didn’t we make it all too accessible to find out?
What was the price? Was it too high? Have we really ever recovered form it?

We look at pictures, we watch specials and we remember but again,at what price?


Well I say, even now 11 years later we are still paying the price and a very high one at that. One that I think we aren’t going to be able to afford any more.
We Don’t trust. We don’t listen. We don’t talk. And We don’t or won’t try to make it better. We just throw money at the problem hopping it will go away and it just won’t.  Don’t you think after hundreds of years at trying this method we come up with a new one? 

In the years since the world has gotten so crazy. There are school bombings, Massive shootings that hurt so many people Natural Destruction that wipes out so much and so much debt that where do we begin?

Well I say haven’t we lost so much because of one mad man’s crazy brain…Haven’t we lost enough lives over this? I mean just shy of 3,000 that day alone and how many thousand since because of this senseless war. I get Why again but isn’t it time to bring home our guys? 


So I ask again…

WHAT Does 9/11 MEAN TO YOU???

I think we need to start to repair the hurt, despair & untrust.

When President Obama came on TV and said they Got Bin Ladden I cheered along with every other American and thought here is our chance to do so. But all I have seen is more unrest, more distrust, more negativity.


I asked my friend what she thought and she stated:
We will never forget the ones who died not just because they are not here but for their courage that they showed to go where others would not !!
For the passengers and crew in those planes that now have wings in heaven we salute you as well, YOU ARE ALL HEROS !!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Well Said.

So I say let’s Honor those who gave their lives even if they didn’t want to, Honor those who responded with courage, Honor those who continue to give their lives and themselves years after and Let’s move on in a positive way and really rebuild the World One Positive Step at a time.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!



HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

Well blog land I just wanted to take a moment to say I hope each and every one of you has a very Safe, Happy & Joyous 4th. 


On this day we must not forget the importance of the sacrifice that so many of our fellow Americans have given up, for us all to live in the Land Of The Free.  This is the Land Of The Free, and the Home Of The Brave…The 4th is a day where we should set aside our grievances & celebrate why we have this freedom in the first place.  We should also remember all the Men & Women…Past, Present & Future who have served to make this the Land Of The Free.

As I look around to many of the celebrations going on this weekend I have to reflect that we may have forgotten what the 4th is all about.It’s not about hamburgers, beer, picnics, trips, barbecues, baseballs games or even fireworks (although I do luv this part) It’s about knowing I live in a country where I can make a decision and not worry about prosecution. It’s about the Freedom that every Individual should be granted on this plant but many do not have. It’s about celebrating our Independence any way we choose, because we do live in the Land Of The Free.
So a little history lesson here folks…We celebrate the Fourth of July, and we set apart from all others, to honor the anniversary of the birth of our nation. It is the day America declared our Independence, because it was the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Why is this so important, well because this document, signed by so many of our early leaders and important historical figures was signed into law and adopted on July 4, 1776, officially declared the United States Independence from Great Britain.  This gave us our start as the “Land Of The Free” and since that time Individuals from all over the world have come here by bus, train, plane, raft, boat & any other thing that can, that will carry them to this great land, to live their dreams and make a better tomorrow for their families.



I think that the best line ever printed, said or repeated a billion times is again what our forefathers wanted for All Americans and I believe they wanted this for the world….

And I whole heartily agree. We as Americans should hold All Truths to be Self-Evident.  We should all be held more Accountable for Our Actions & not blame others for what we choose to do. This goes against the belief’s our Founding Fathers wanted for us all.



I also believe that they also had it right when they said That All Men Are Created Equal.  I think we should remember this when we think we are better than others.  Weather it is our neighbor next to us or our neighbors across the world we are all Equal.

I also believe that we do have certain Rights; that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” , I DON’T BELIEVE THEY ARE unalienable, The dream of a free and equal people burned brightly in the hearts of our founding fathers way back in 1776 as it does today in 2012.


I also hope and believe that every American has a love for this country & that their love of Freedom, Life & Liberty should be expressed daily.  That everyone who loves this country & the principals which our forefathers wanted for us be granted, and acted upon.  We give so much for this wonderful country to keep it Free.  We should Never Never forget this. Once we all accept this than our rights won’t be unalienable they will be held close to our hearts for us all to cherish.

We have given so much thru our long and beautiful history, although not always sunshine & roses, to ever truly forget.  Many may try to hide the truths, but remember lying will get you know nowhere and the truth will always come out.  There will always be individuals who fight for the truth & freedom so we may hold dear what the meaning of the 4th of July truly is. Grand & Glorious Independence For All !!!



I recognize that Americans fought hard, and far too many died, to gain these rights for us and that we have men and women fighting even now, to keep these rights secured. We should not be so willing to overlook the struggles of those first Americans, nor think that their words and actions came easily or without the considerable thought to consequence…

I think our National Anthem say’s it all…



Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that Star - Spangled Banner yet wave
Over the land of the free and the home of the brave?

MAY EVERYONE HERE IN BLOGLAND, PITTSBURGH, THE USA & THE WORLD HAVE A TRULY MAGICAL 4TH OF JULY & MAY YOU ALL HOLD THE BELIEFS OUR FOUNDING FATHERS WANTED FOR US ALL IN YOUR HEARTS.

MAY YOU ALL ALSO HAVE A FUN, EXECTING & LOVELY TIME CELEBRATING THIS TRULY AMAZEBALLS HOLIDAY ANY WAY YOU WANT, BUT DON’T FORGET A LITTLE PRAYER FOR EVERY PERSON ON THIS PLANET TO HAVE THE FREEDOM WE ALL HAVE HERE.  WE ALL DESERVE TO HAVE & LIVE IN THE A PLACE WE CALL THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE

Fireworks Safety Starts with Common Sense

While we all luv to have a good time & think it will never happen to me, keep in mind that about 8,500 to 9,000 people on average yearly get injuries from misuse of Fireworks.  Don’t become a Statistic..Follow these simple Safety Steps to insure a happy holiday for all.

Only use fireworks as intended. Don't try to alter them or combine them.
Using common sense will keep Spectators ALIVE & INJURY FREE
·         You should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.
·         Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives: They can kill you! Report illegal explosives to the fire or police department in your community.

·         Parents and caretakers should always closely supervise teens if they are using fireworks.

Parents should not allow young children to handle or use fireworks.


Fireworks should only be used outdoors.


Always have water ready if you are shooting fireworks.

Know your fireworks. Read the caution label before igniting.

Obey local laws. If fireworks are not legal where you live, do not use them.

Alcohol and fireworks do not mix. Have a "designated shooter."


Wear safety glasses whenever using fireworks.

Never relight a “dud” firework. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.

Soak spent fireworks with water before placing them in an outdoor garbage can.

Avoid using homemade fireworks or illegal explosives: They can kill you!

Report illegal explosives, like M-80s and quarter sticks, to the fire or police department



And note these special safety tips, if using sparklers:

  . Only persons over the age of 12 should be allowed to handle sparklers of any type.
·         Always remain standing while using sparklers
Never hold a child in your arms while using sparklers.
Never hold, or light, more than one sparkler at a time.
Never throw sparklers.



Sparkler wire and stick remain hot long after the flame has gone out. Be sure to drop
spent sparklers in a bucket of water.

Teach children not to wave sparklers, or run, while holding sparklers.
